There’s nothing quite like being invited to the Carne Asada. The warmth, the laughter, the music—it’s more than just food, it’s family. One thing I’ve learned from Mexican culture is simple but powerful: never show up empty-handed. Bring a case of ice-cold Chelas and something to share, because everything here is about community. No one ever told me “Once you go brown you’ll be forever down.” I was only 15 when I fell head over heels for a Chilanga in Mexico City, and with her, I fell for Mexico too. From praying at La Villa, to climbing the pyramids, to wandering through Chapultepec, the country has given me memories that live deep in my heart.Mexico welcomed me when I was still just a kid, and for that I’ll always be grateful. This place isn’t just somewhere I’ve been—it’s a part of me. In this life and the next, I hope I can always say: “Mis calles, Mi Gente, Mi México.” 🇲🇽
